- Ensure device and tubing are clean and in good condition before
and after use. - Pump unit is cleaned with detergent or 70% isopropyl alcohol
wipe. - Care should be taken when cleaning not to wet excessively or
immerse in any liquid. - Silicon tubing is cleaned externally with a detergent or 70%
isopropyl alcohol wipe. The inside is not cleaned, it only transports
ambient air - Do not allow tubing to contact liquid or foam. If contamination
occurs, replace and dispose of soiled tubing. - Silicone tubing is single patient use, replace if visibly damaged,
soiled or discoloured and/or after 30 days use. - Pipettes are single use and are disposed of after each use.
- For blood and body fluid contamination clean pump unit using a
10,000 ppm solution of chlorine. Dispose of silicone tubing and
pipette. - Check with your in-house IPC for local infection control policy
